A preserved-moss feature wall built as the focal point of a reception area — fully light-mapped, and designed to need nothing at all after handover.
A reception is the one interior everybody sees and nobody maintains. It needed a biophilic focal point with real presence, in a position where a living installation would have meant irrigation, grow lights and a permanent service contract in the busiest part of the building.
A preserved-moss feature wall, specified after a full light mapping of the space — which is what confirmed that living planting was the wrong answer here rather than merely an expensive one. Preserved moss holds its colour and texture indefinitely without water or daylight, so the wall looks the same in year three as on handover day.
The ongoing cost after installation is nothing. No visits, no watering, no replacements — which for a reception area is usually the deciding factor.
Preserved moss is one half of our wall work; the other is the living kind, as at Indiabulls Sky Forest. For offices that want both — moss where there is no light, planting where there is — we deliver them as a single project, which is what happened at IPCA Laboratories.
